Is The Difference between Precession Vortex Flowmeter And Electromagnetic Flowmeter Clear To Everyone?

The difference between rotary vortex flowmeter and electromagnetic flowmeter

In the field of flow meters, precession vortex flow meters and electromagnetic flow meters are two common measurement tools. Although they are all used to measure fluid flow, they have significant differences in principles, applications, and characteristics. Let's have a deeper understanding of these two types of flow meters to help you better understand their differences.

Firstly, let's take a working principle perspective. The precession vortex flowmeter is based on the alternating vortex flow generated by the fluid passing through a specific probe, and the frequency of these vortex flows is proportional to the fluid flow rate. By measuring the frequency of this vortex flow, we can calculate the fluid flow rate. Electromagnetic flow meters, on the other hand, utilize Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. When a conductive liquid passes through a magnetic field, an electromotive force is generated, and the magnitude of the electromotive force is proportional to the velocity of the fluid. By measuring this electromotive force, we can obtain the flow rate of the fluid.

In terms of application, the precession vortex flowmeter is mainly used to measure gas and liquid flow rates, especially suitable for low viscosity fluids. Its advantage lies in its insensitivity to changes in fluid viscosity, density, and pressure, thus having good stability. Electromagnetic flow meters are more suitable for measuring conductive fluids, such as wastewater, acid-base solutions, etc. Due to its principle, electromagnetic flow meters have certain requirements for fluid conductivity, and the measurement effect may be affected for low conductivity fluids.

In addition, there are differences in the characteristics between these two flow meters. The precession vortex flowmeter has high measurement accuracy and reliability, and is easy to install and maintain. Electromagnetic flow meters have good measurement response speed and can quickly respond to changes in flow rate.

Overall, both precession vortex flowmeter and electromagnetic flowmeter are very useful measurement tools, but their applicability and characteristics are different. The choice of flowmeter depends on your specific needs and application situation. By understanding their principles, applications, and characteristics, you will be able to make wiser choices.
