5.20 World Metrology Day - Quality Strong Nation Starts from Every Bit

On May 17, 2019, Weihai High tech Zone held the first measurement meeting, which was co chaired by Song Jie, Director of Weihai Market Supervision Administration, and Cao, Director of Weihai Measurement Institute. Several instrument manufacturers in the High tech Zone actively participated in the meeting to discuss the development direction of China's Metrology. In the meeting, Director Song not only had a farsighted vision, but also had a down-to-earth, local and realistic analysis, which pointed out the direction for metrology enterprises in the High tech Zone. Director Cao of Weihai Measurement Institute discussed the future measurement direction based on the actual situation of our instrument units, which once pushed the meeting to a climax.

1. Where will China's Metrology go?

Made in China 2005 Metrology Development Outline mentioned that China's industrial measurement should return to the measurement standard, including online calibration, production processing calibration, calibration in sales, etc., and coordinate the industrial metrology platform to track the production process cycle measurement throughout the industrial chain.

2. The China US trade war tells us that we should be a strong country in science and technology and quality, and improve our core competitiveness in the world.

3. Made in China 2005 mentioned that enterprises are the main body of innovation. It is the foundation of our strong country to combine administrative enterprises, military and civilian integration, and cultivate high-tech innovative R&D talents. As an enterprise, we should provide quality assurance solutions, pay attention to every key node in the production process that needs measurement, find out the gap between us and foreign countries, and find relevant platforms such as the government to help solve it. The scientific and technological revolution should develop in the direction of online calibration.

In the conversation at this meeting, Director Song said that during a random visit to the instrument enterprises a few days ago, only Weihai Kunke Flow Instrument Co.,Ltd and Weihai Tiangang Instrument were actually running factory inspection and calibration, and the quality control should start from our production enterprises and from every bit around us. Now the quality of China's products has been greatly improved, and the spirit of ingenuity has been carried forward in many enterprises. However, there are still some problems. Some of the core technologies have not yet met the requirements of high standards. Of course, this is also related to our national conditions. We lack detection methods for certain core components.

Finally, Director Song of Weihai Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau summarized that our enterprise should not only obtain relevant type approval certificates according to the requirements of the government, but also ensure the inspection of the production process, fundamentally ensure our quality. For quality, we should not be too closed. We should go out of measurement to see measurement, and make our country a real quality power.
